Nowadays, micro-blogging sites such as Twitter.com are taking over the web. Micro-blogging is when users send brief text updates which can either be viewed by anyone on the web or a restricted group. Many people use sites like Twitter to find out industry related news, update their friends on what they are doing, or for SEO purposes.
Evidence of how popular Twitter has become is when Google signed up for Twitter last week. (Matt Cutts has confirmed that this is a real Googler). You can follow Google on Twitter for news and updates from the search engine. Their Twitter page is similar to their Google Blog.
